William and Vera lived in their Craftsman's bungalow for the next nineteen years. Their son William, Jr., was born there in 1925.

William, Sr., continued to progress at the bank, becoming trust officer and finally vice-president.

In 1939 they left their kit home to move to a larger house at 1212 Orendorff Street.
