Made by Dominion, Mansfield, OH
Chromium-plated metal, aluminum, wood

The first electric waffle irons, introduced about 1918, were designed "for lamp socket use." This delux Dominion waffle iron has twin grids that are controlled separately and have adjustable indicators for light or dark waffles. A small light in each lid indicates when the interior is hot enough to cook the batter. Similar waffle irons sold for $5.95 to $9.95. Companies advertised the cast aluminum grids as "fast heating" and "greaseless."
