Made in China
Rose Medallion pattern
Porcelain
A wide variety of goods, including large porcelain dinnerware sets, were made in China specifically for American and European markets. Rose Medallion dinnerware appealed to Victorian tastes because of its delicately detailed, fan-shaped medallions on a colorful background. Two of the medallions contain painted Chinese figures and two contain floral designs. A 158-piece set was purchased in 1870 for $125.
