9 What did Marie Rouensa's will state? |
Marie's son, Michael Accault, did return, renouncing his Indian heritage as she wished, to claim his considerable inheritance. After Marie's death, the estate was inventoried and a value placed on each object--nearly a hundred listings, totaling over 45,000 livres, not including the maize on the stalk. Marie's husband retained half the land and property; the remaining half was divided equally among her eight children. Her daughter Agnes took over the care of her two young sisters. |
