Wake Robin or Trillium?
Wake robin (scientific name Trillium recurvatum) was not selected as the State Flower of Illinois.
The red flowers of this common woodland plant bloom in April. It is found throughout the state. The three leaves and large flowers with three parts give trilliums their name.
