Two-sided sulphide medallion of Louis Napoleon Bonaparte holding infant King of Rome over font; inscription below reads: "BAPTEME DU ROI DE ROME/M.DCCCXI," "ANDRIEU FECIT" inscribed to the left; domed face on each side; edges cut with spiral gadrooning

Bertrand Andreiu (1761 - 1822), was an engraver and medallist who engraved many of the portraits of Napoleon that were used in a series of medals and coins after 1800.

Reverse side
The reverse side of the medallion is inscribed "A L'EMPEREUR/LES BONNES VILLES/DE L'EMPIRE" encircled by two rings of castellated buildings, each inscribed with the names of Paris, Rome, and Nice, etc.
