At Home...in a Century of Progress: 1920-1950

Flip Books

This is a picture story constructed so that the viewer can look at each picture by flipping it over the top, one by one.

Your materials will include: two pieces of heavy tagboard 9" x 12", two pieces of wire or ring binders to attach the book together, and unlined paper for the pages to go inside.

The cover will be decorated to resemble the cover of the book (use one sheet of tagboard for this). The inside pictures (no fewer than ten) will be drawn with a pencil and then colored carefully with paint, crayons, or magic markers. You will need to leave some room at the bottom of each picture for a sentence describing the picture.

Your flip book will tell a story.

Note: for classrooms using Hyperstudio or Hypercard, you may want to construct digitized flip books.
