At first everything went just great for us--actually, it's still going great as far as Chuck and I are concerned. But since Black Monday--that was in October of '29--the rest of the country is taking a beating.

My parents have a nice house in Oak Park. I'm still living with them.

But my Dad had a position with the Monarch Electric Company, and Electric companies have been among the hardest hit. Monarch Electric collapsed in '30 and Dad's been out of a job ever since.
